Saeed & Palash Tide:Edit:07 by Kelly Hubertus Saeed & Palash's latest release from Star 69 Records is labeled as the innovative future sound of house-something you may hear at Epcot Center in Disney World. Their CDs certainly carry a futuristic sound through each cut. Interestingly enough, even though this team seems inseparable in the studio and at the clubs, they have chosen to divide this two-disc set into solo mixes. The first CD, mixed by Saeed, is a seventy-seven minute journey into fresh new sounds, fusing dark, tribal tech-house with tracks by Noel Sanger, Peter Bailey, and Nick Dem Q. "Raices," by Marcelo Castelli, catches your attention with a nifty, synthy cougar's roar bridging this track to the next called "Amazonia". Hands down, this cut is a personal favorite on CD one. Already a hit is Saeed & Palash's own mix of Peter Bailey's "U Need It" on Steve Lawler's Harlem label. It has a good build-up of layered beats, then trickles back down to a steady congo and vocals teasing the listener with "U need it, you want it". Palash's mix on disc two keeps pounding out the beats with eleven more tracks. To open this set, atmospheric, breathy vocals set the tone for outerspace with Revolt's "Am I Still Dreamin?" Taken by the sounds of synths and electro, the huge party time booming is balanced nicely. For the most part, both of their mixing styles are steady and flawless. Saeed and Palash have done an overall good job of synergizing the wide spectrum of today's underground house. Tide:Edit:7, the duo's debut CD, is out now on the widely popular Star 69 label. Saeed and Palash are currently on their summer tour and will be hitting up the Seks party on August 3rd at eleven50 in Atlanta.
