| Yesterday Fox News and the Jeruselam News reported that we had secured a "huge" chemical weapons facility, complete with a surrendered military guard force. Since the initial word got out the Pentagon is saying we must be cautious and wait for verification. I was just wondering what people think. Did we really find a plant only 4 days into the campaign? |

| I don't think I have enough information to evaluate this. How would I be able to tell? |

This is a gut-call type of question. Do you think it is a chemical weapons plant? It was camoflaged from the air, about 100 acres, surrounded by an electric fence, and no one knew about it. That's really all we know right now because the information stream has been cut off until things are independently verified.

yeah. It sounds suspicous, but my gut call is that I don't have the knowledge to be able to make calls about that sort of thing. For instance, how often are buildings sand colored? Maybe it was a popular architectural movement. There are buildings in ATL with grass on top of them. The emory gym has tennis courts on top of it. From space, you may well miss the building. But aside from some smelly socks, I don't think there are any weapons there. |

Apparently there was a general or two there also.. with a total of 30 soldiers that surrendered without putting up a fight.
Me, I don't know.. The first reports coming out made it really sound like a chem weapons plant.. then later last night, as the Pentagon started commenting on these reports, it seemed more likely that it wasn't.. as of this morning, its seems it could go either way.
I know its probable that we will find chemical factories eventually, even if this isn't one. But taking into account the false reports of SCUDs, the retracted reports that we had taken over a couple cities, etc.. I'll vote no.
